Tour Plan
Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner
The safari begins with a pickup at your beach hotel or resort. We’ll take the Mombasa – Nairobi Highway, viewing farmlands and Kenya countryside along the way.
The route to Tsavo East is short and upon reaching the park, we’ll stop for refreshments before heading out on our first game drive. You’ll feel the safari excitement as we rumble over the broad grasslands looking for the larger and smaller wildlife like eland, impala, giraffe, and zebra.
After our first taste of this legendary park, we’ll break for lunch and fortify ourselves for more great game viewing during the afternoon. The place will be relaxed – there will be plenty of time to discover the big game during our 3-day safari.
As we track for the wildlife all about us in this massive park, we’ll also get to witness one of Africa’s blazing sunsets.
Dinner and overnight at the safari Lodge of your choice
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We’ll be up before the sun to watch the dawn illuminate the plains around us. The first wildlife awakens, venturing out into the open savannah as we experience the park coming to life.
After breakfast, we’ll venture forth once more in search of hunters and grazers. We’re sure to spot wildlife at Mudanda Rock, a whale-backed formation creating a natural dam. This unique watering hole is a natural draw for elephants and other animals looking for water in this wild and rugged park.
Later, we’ll take the short drive to neighboring Tsavo West. But this jaunt will also be a game drive as we cross from park to park looking for the “Big Five” and the lesser wildlife.
At Tsavo West National Park, we’ll make a stop at a unique enclosure – the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary. This 70 sq. km (27 sq. mi) protected area is home to some 80 black rhino and is one of the few places where one can view these massive but shy creatures.
Dinner and Overnight at your safari lodge/ tented camp of your choice
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch
We’ll be up early again to make the most of our day. This is a pre-breakfast exploration of the park, for us… and the wildlife. And we’ll all enjoy the deepening colors of the land as the sun burns off the early morning dew.
Later, after the delicious fortitude of a safari breakfast, we’ll strike out for Mzima Springs. This unexpected oasis is fed by crystal-clear waters providing a living habitat for aquatic and land creatures. Its lush greenery stands in marked relief from the rugged plains of the park.
We’ll step from our 4 x 4 Jeep and take a nature walk under the raffia-lined shores, looking for hippo, crocodile, colorful fish and birds. Terrestrial wildlife flocks here as well, so be on guard for zebra and giraffe wandering amongst the acacia trees.
Drop off as afternoon approaches, it’s soon time to head back to the Kenya coast.
